This is a series of photos I took in 1973 in Turkish Kurdistan, with the theme of traditional trades being taught by fathers and families to their sons.  This region has been affected by war and many of the people and locations no longer exist.  Although not a country, Kurdish people  are concentrated in an ethnic area considered Greater Kurdistan, which includes parts of northern Syria, northern Iraq, and northwestern Iran.
